Recap: Our Week at IBM THINK 2019

By: Michael Rabinowitz | February 21, 2019

With another IBM THINK in the books, we wanted to give you a taste of what our week was like at this unique, one-of-a-kind event. If you haven’t been, this conference takes place annually and provides attendees with the opportunity to attend informative sessions, labs, and expert talks, plus the chance to network with exhibitors and IBM partners.

Our talented group of technical and sales experts started the week off on Monday in San Francisco with sessions that covered IBM’s supply chain strategy, roadmap, and customer success stories. We followed that up on Tuesday with some exciting presentations from COE customers.

Billy Durham of Genuine Parts Company talked about how to design the right managed file transfer solution for your organization. Specifically, he discussed the do’s and don’ts when implementing enterprise file transfer and the importance of keeping a good inventory of all your transfers.

Then, Gary Ward of ADP and our own Steve Cara talked consolidating file transfer platforms. They highlighted the complexity of consolidating multiple legacy platforms onto a single strategic platform and the importance of having the right partner make the transition easier.

We also had the chance to connect with some of our customers to discuss their successes as well as plans for the future.

The next day, we hosted our annual customer appreciation event for over 150 attendees. We loved hearing about their success stories with COE and IBM over the past year what their plans are for 2019.

On Thursday, we hosted our very first Syncrofy event! I started with an overview and the history of EDI and the impact it’s had on the evolution of business. I then called on the industry to come together to unlock EDI’s value and push the evolution of business to new heights.

“If data is the new oil, then EDI is our most untapped valuable resource.”

After that, Joe Mandato our Director of Software Engineering, gave a demo of Syncrofy and showed just how it easy it is to access and manage your EDI data. Later, our customer Misumi USA, discussed how they leveraged IBM Sterling to improve customer onboarding for EDI, reduce labor costs, and improve customer service.

On the final night, we enjoyed networking and experiencing the live entertainment at San Francisco’s famous Pier 39.

Overall, it was an incredible week filled with informative sessions, customer success stories, and new connections. You can bet we’ll back next year to do it all over again!
